Abrokyire Hene which means King of Abroad in Twi was a shoot aimed to inspire the western world with the traditional attire for a male in Ghana, letting the world know that they are not afraid to show who they are and where they come from.

This shoot is rich in colour and boldly unique, rocked by bearded Ghanaian men who embrace their culture.

Sometimes the most beautiful designs & photos are so captivating – because they are simple. That’s what I like so much about the France/Benin-based brand Nash Prints It. The studio photography of their new collection focuses on showcasing West African prints worn by beautiful women. Simple, right? But so effective!

I basically love every single image as it exudes style, beauty, positive energy, confidence, coolness, elegance and hipness. All that without frills and props. My favorites are the short Kimono tops and the dress with the cut-out at the back.

PREPARATIONS are under way for a riotous celebration of African fashion in Oxford next month, with volunteers are still needed to get the event on its feet.

The African Fashion Roots Oxford (AFROshow) event will include an exhibition, live catwalk performances, music, food and the chance to purchase African-inspired clothes.
With just over a month to go until the festivities organiser Laure Loutala Mpolo has been inundated with requests to help.
She said: “Tickets have been selling online and people have been calling from different places in the UK wanting to get involved.

“It’s all taking shape now. Designers are coming from Paris and will start getting themselves sorted soon; it’s all about practice and getting the buzz going on social media.”

Mrs Loutala Mpolo, originally from Congo, set up the event after being asked by English friends where she got her clothes.
