The 10th edition of Africa’s biggest youth event, The Future Awards Africa held last night at theINTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event was highly anticipated and was a huge success.
Hosted by South Africa’s Bonang Matheba and Nigeria’s Darey Art-Alade, there were performances from D’banj, Omawumi, Chidinma and more.

The grand event saw many of our favorite celebrities as well as other people from all walks of life in some very beautiful attires and we just couldn’t take our eyes off them.
The ELOY awards 2015 took place last night at the Red carpet event center and it was truly a spectacular night to celebrate women who blaze the trail in Nigeria.
The grand event saw many of our favorite celebrities as well as other people from all walks of life in some very beautiful attires and we just couldn’t take our eyes off them. So we decided to put together five of our favorite looks of the night:
Tomi Odunsi: The tinsel actress was a vision in white by the fashion amazon, Ejiro Amos Tafiri.
Osas Ajibade: Not only did she win brand ambassador award, she won on the red carpet in her beautiful Moofa gown.
Bolanle Olukanni: The star OAP may not have won an award last night but she definitely slayed our hearts in an Elvira Jude number.
Toju Foyeh: The fashion designer of the year award winner looked yummy in a black and white dress by herself, of course.
Elma Godwin: The OAP who just turned 25, turned heads on the red carpet in a DZYN number and let’s not forget that white and black hairdo…fire!
Honorary mention (Linda Osifo & Adesua Etomi): Although they didn;t make our overall list, they definitely killed it on the red carpet and in dresses by Mai Atafo.
From stage performances and sizzling energy to sexy suits and plunging necklines, this year’s anniversary of American Music Awards was mind blowing. It is popular knowledge that the AMA’s are as much for the eye-popping red carpet fashion as they are for the heart-warming music.
Thousands of stars graced the American Music Awards 2015 red carpet, with the likes of Taylor Swift, Sam Hunt, Nicki Minaj, The Weekend, Enrique Iglesias, Casting Crowns, One Direction and others bagging music awards. The music awards may not have been for everybody, but the fashion awards certainly were. There were style trends, colour trends, faux pas, worst dressed and best dressed.
Style Trends:
This years AMA’s saw a lot of our female celebrities baring loads of skin in floor length gowns. The perfect hairdo for this style trend also seemed to be do-up buns. Christina Milian, Jennifer Lopez and Karrueche Tran sported the do-up bun and revealing yet flattering, floor length gowns designed by LaQuan Smith, Charbel Zoe and Yousef Al-
Another trend on the red carpet was beaded gowns, sported by Ciara, Selena Gomez and others. Demi Lovato‘s gown was designed by Lorena Sarbu while Ciara and Carrie Underwood’s outfits were designed by Reem Acra and Elie Madi, respectively.
Colour Trends:
The colour, black, went viral at the AMA’s 2015. Admittedly, the AMA’s are always a lot more casual than the Oscars or Emmys but this year, black brought sophistication along. Meghan Trainor wore Michael Costello, a black demure , floor length gown with high shoulders and a nice fit. Leon Bridges, a gospel musician wore a black, perfectly tailored suit. Black and simple. Our ‘Empire’ sweetheart, Serayah Mcneill wore a black Vera Wang dress that fit like a second skin to the AMA’s.
Faux pas:
As is normal with every high profile event, there were a few embarassing style choices and matches. Nash Grier and Rebecca Black, two social media personalities, had quite an issue with matching out their outfits. Rebecca of ‘Friday’ paired a beautiful jumpsuit with a fully beaded shirt and strappy buckle heels… big mistake. Nash Grier’s attempt to look cool and suave by matching a leather jacket with a full floral print shirt, black trousers and black shoes was a huge miss. ‘If I was a Rich Girl’ star, Gwen Stefani, wore a black, detailed dress that is really quite hard to describe. Worst Dressed:
Z Lala, Sabrina Carpenter and Harry Styles were definitely worst dressed at the AMA’s. Sabrina wore an underwhelming black and white print dress with frilled shoulder puffs and matched this inappropriate dress with lavender heels and shoes. Harry of One Direction looked weird beside his group members in a full floral frint suit, with wide pant legs. If we had any complaints whatsoever about these two though, Z Lala certainly took the cake with her octopus dress and talon-like fingernails!
Best Dressed:
For American Music Awards 43rd anniversary, it wasn’t difficult to choose our best dressed. Selena Gomez looked amazing in a red, sequined, slingy halter dress designed by Givenchy. Carrie Underwood looked like a goddess in a beaded and caped dress designed by Elie Madi. Wiz Khalifa brought his A-game to the show with a tailored, navy, velvet jacket and black, ankle-grazing slacks layered with a crisp white button up shirt all from Giorgio Armani. Nick Jonas took a cue from Drake’s fashion with his turtle neck shirt coupled with a crisp suit that complemented his build. Zendaya went all pink in lace shirt and skirt designed by Emanuel Ungaro with pointed-toe pumps. Gigi Hadid was resplendent in an all white outfit featuring a crop top and a maxi skirt designed by Bao Tranchi, her hair, short and beautifully styled. Sam Hunt looked wonderful in a fitted grey suit and Demi Lovato wore an old- Hollywood inspired outfit with her black and gold sequined dress designed by Lorena Sarbu and retro-style hair and makeup.

The Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) 2015 kicked off on Wednesday at The Marqee, Federal Palace Hotel, October 28th, 2015. The event features a range of designers in the African fashion industry and is running in its 5th year. Check out pictures from the ‘Black Carpet’
One of the most important events on South Africa’s fashion calendar, SA Fashion Week, is set to start tonight and will continue until 25 October. Last night, Johannesburg’s socialites and celebrities celebrated the kick-start of this auspicious event in Kramerville, hosted by luxury vodka brand Cruz Vodka.
These were some of our favourite looks from the evening:
Jessica Nkosi (with friend) looked particularly dazzling in this good-girl at the bottom, bad-girl at the top Rubicon Clothing creation. The Isibaya actress, unlike her character Qondi on the soap, looked modern and chic. In a pink floral dress reminiscent of a Disney Princess, Thando Thabethe celebrated Spring in her Sober Design gown. The Generation’s actress looks convincingly innocent and ready to take up her crown as the Queen.
Actress and TV Personality Amanda du Pont kept it simple and to the point with a bit of a sexy twist. One thing is for sure, gladiator heels, a knee-length leather skirt, a lacy top and a matching black bra equals absolute perfection. Actress Khanya Mkhangisa, looked feisty in a long black leather-waist skirt paired with leather bandeau created by Erre Fashion.
Live Amp presenter Lootlove has perfected the balance between looking boyish and ultra-feminine at the same time. She looks sleek and stylish in a House of Ole creation. The Fashion Rebels who are the founders of the SocialMARKET
