    With campaign season setting the pace for all things ‘Fresh’, Missoni‘s Spring/Summer’16 campaign arrives with a wonderful short film and shots starring Nigerian model, Victor Ndigwe.

    Fronting the campaign alongside model veteran Freja Beha Erichsen, Mr Ndigwe is seen chilling and lounging in the printed ensembles we’re all longing for – including a smooth, tonal suit he rocks with a matching beige-printed shirt and all the attitude of a lazy Summer’s day.

    According to the brand;

    “Sensuality and naturalness are the focus of the Missoni Summer 2016 campaign.

    …Knit, its colours and precious finishings are in the forefront.”

    In the fashion film, we see a little of Victor and hear lots of weird, whispered sounds from Ms Erichsen, combing for a fresh and unusual video lensed by Harley Weir (the bae responsible for shooting that epic Senegalese wrestling short with designer Grace Bonner), with creative direction from Angela Missoni.

    See the rest of the campaign pictures here below as well as the video, then tell us if you’re looking forward to next season and having the sort of style adventures that model Victor Ndigwe and Missoni is selling us.

    When it comes to a dark skin models catwalking for the high street fashion brands, the rate of survival is always very slim. This is not based on competency metrics but a mere discrimination based on skin color by makeup artist being unable to work with darker skin.

    Well, thankfully we’re in the era of positive change as 19-year-old Nigerian male model is breaking new grounds with his modelling career.

    Victor Ndigwe is a Nigerian-born model and a student of University of Benin, Edo State. After winning the male category of Elite Model Look Nigeria 2014, he never knew that was the beginning of his modelling stardom. As BellaNaija pointed out, earlier this year, Victor made his fashion week debut in Milan and Paris as the first Nigerian male model to do so. That did not only end successfully, but it paved the way for the 19-year-old model to catwalk for high street fashion labels like Ermenegildo Zegna and Missoni in Milan as well as Hermés, Balmain, Kenzo, Haider Ackermann and Ami in Paris.

    Here at Fashion Police Nigeria, we’re big fans of success, and we’re optimistic about the future of Victor Ndigwe in the fashion industry.
