As every fashionista knows, there is no fashion item that can transform an outfit from laid back to formal like shoe can. For extra class and sophistication, trust high heels to com t your rescue. However, one fact that cannot be over looked is knowing the right heel to wear especially during this holiday season where we would have tons of events to attend. While it’s doubtlessly true that a high heel will not be as comfortable as an orthopedic running shoe, it is also very possible that the reason why your feet hurt after you wear high heels for long is that you are simply wearing the wrong heel height.

1 . The 1.5 inch heel: This height is actually quite healthy for many people. It gives a bit of a lift, and arch support, without throwing you off balance. This kitten heel is also super cute and feminine, especially when paired with a retro hourglass silhouette. Some low heel designs look lie weaker version of high heel so look for the ones with straps.

2 . The 2.5 inch heel: This height is perfect for giving you a boost both in height and confidence, and it’s a bit more impressive than a low heel. Also known as a midi heel, this height looks great in a peep toe, a cone heel, or a slingback strap. These heels will not be out of place in the office, or at a more casual party.

3 . The 3.5 inch heel: At this height, they are perfect for every occasion, from the office to the fanciest of galas. If this is your ideal height, you are in luck, because you can look summery and casual in a wedge, or fiercely elegant in a pump.

4 . The 4.5 inch heel: At this heel height, you can opt for femme fatale point-toe shoes (just make sure your toes have enough wiggle room), or something more cheeky like a peep-toe. However, avoid mules or any other shoe design that won’t support your ankles and in-step.

5 . The 5 inch and above: At this height and higher, these shoes should be avoided. Shoes this high will put anyone’s feet into an unnatural angle that will throw you completely off balance, and could damage your toes, joints, and foot tendons.

I know how rushed mornings can be, but there are some habits you should be including in your routine. They are proven ways to help you look and feel your best, no matter what’s on the agenda for the day. The good news is that once you get into the habit, these things are easy and fast to get done and you can reap the rewards all day long. Starting tomorrow, include these beauty habits for the best looking you possible.

1. EAT PROTEIN FOR BREAKFAST IN THE FORM OF EGGS OR YOGURT

Research shows that ladies who dine on a protein-packed breakfast made better choices later in the day. Not only does this help keep your weight down, but it also translates into healthier glowing skin. More research shows that eggs are one of the best choices you can make when it comes to protein. Greek yogurt is another great choice.

2. YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD BE WEARING SUNSCREEN, RIGHT?

It goes without saying that you should wear SPF every single day. It protects your skin from the signs of aging and prevents skin cancer. Not only should you apply it before you apply your make-up, but you should also reapply every couple of hours, especially if you plan to spend the time outdoors.

3. START WEARING AN ANTIOXIDANT SERUM AS PART OF YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

This little tidbit of advice is one you’ll thank me for as you get older. You might not notice the results instantly, but you will definitely notice them as time goes by. Antioxidants fight free radical damage, which alters your skin and can lead to cancer, lines, wrinkles and age spots. Simply apply it every morning and you’ll retain your youthful beauty in the years to come.

4. MOVE YOUR WORKOUT TO THE MORNING INSTEAD OF AFTER WORK

Exercise boosts circulation, controls weight and fights health issues, all of which translate to a gorgeous body and healthy skin. If you tend to skip it because you’re just too tired at the end of the day, move your session to the morning hours instead. You’ll start the day with a healthy glow and you’ll have the evening free to relax.

5. HAVE A GLASS OF WATER WHILE YOU GET READY TO GO

Dehydration occurs when you go several hours without water. When you sleep for the recommended 7 to 9 hours (you do, right?), you wind up going without for quite a while. Starting your day with a glass of water instantly hydrates your body, which makes your skin firm and toned as well as reducing crankiness. Sounds easy enough, right?

6. MIST YOUR FACE WITH CHILLED WATER FIRST THING

If you wake up with puffy circles under your eyes or just overall dullness on your face, a simple spray bottle with water can be a lifesaver. Keep it in the fridge because the chilly temp helps combat puffiness and wakes up your face so you look healthier and fresher from the get go. As a bonus – if you have trouble waking up, this will certainly do the trick.

7. HAVE A BOOST OF CAFFEINE FROM GREEN TEA INSTEAD OF COFFEE

I’m a morning tea drinker, but if you aren’t this might take a bit of getting used to. Caffeine is actually beneficial to your skin because it perks it up. However, green tea is a very concentrated source of antioxidants, which helps slow cell damage and leave you looking young all the time. If you must have coffee, drink it after you down the green tea.

Who knew mornings could make you so beautiful? Which of these ideas are you going to try tomorrow?

The Voice fashion columnists Gaone Mothibi and Tsholo Dikobe this week had an interview with CNN (Cable News Network).

Through the interview which is expected to air on CNN DSTV channel 401 in September 18th in the program AFRICAN VOICES, the two women who are considered as Botswana’s leading fashion artists had the opportunity to showcase their fashion work which includes innovative kobo mogagolwane designs, fashion styling and fashion journalism.

African VOICES highlights the continents’ most dazzling trendsetters and trail blazers who create their own sub-cultures in areas such as travel, fashion, music, technology and architecture and the platform has been instrumental in raising the profile of outstanding Africans and their impressive contributions to their countries, according to the artists.

“This CNN-GaTsh Fros interview acts as a conduit for us to brand a new Botswana where now the focus is in favor of raiment designs by local Botswana talent. It further shows our unique, impeccable gatshy fashions as a fashion duo and another side of us that is creative, non-conforming, unconventional and business savvy, through our talent,” said the artists.

“Truly, it is a humbling and a surreal feeling to be chosen, interviewed and profiled by a huge international news network, CNN, as one of Africa’s trail blazers and Botswana’s trendsetters. We will forever be humbled and honored to continue providing Africa, and our country with this platform that encourages a more proactive role and be a conduit or fashion ambassadors to the public in providing efficient and developed information in all fields of fashion and culture,” said the artists.

The artists added that it is truly a great feeling to be the voice of African Fashion and hold its identity in appearance, demeanor, values and ethics. “Moreover, it is with great pleasure to announce the appreciation and first class assistance we received on board from reputable stakeholders who made this interview run smoothly.”

Through their fashion column known as “The Voice On Fashion, with GaTsh Fros” published in The Voice Newspaper, the artists features the latest fashion trends, promotes local fashion industry and the column has increased the visibility and awareness of local retail stores, designers and fashion lover and inventors, who through the column have an affordable global marketing platform, brand positioning which ensures fashion artists reach their target market with ease.

“Therefore through this platform and visionary approach, CNN filmed us at Image Lounge studios, while working on a fashion editorial project for The Voice Newspaper, a newspaper that has grown to be the country’s most followed and popular fashion publication and has an online presence that far surpasses any other media house in Botswana,” said the artists.

The artists said through the column they are exposing Botswana’s fashion hotspots and scenery through places like the main mall, the University of Botswana.
