David Tlale To Launch Bridal Collection At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town

After more than a decade in couture, David Tlale will launch his bridal collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town on Saturday.

Called “We are who we are”, it is inspired by the romantic ideal of love and consists of a range of styles in shades of white - pure white, cream, vanilla and off-white.

The award-winning, internationally acclaimed Johannesburg designer says the collection is for women who, most importantly, want to look different on their dream day.

”The collection will have the feel of poetry and an architectural form constructed for a modern-day bride,” Tlale says.

The bridal collection joins the growing David Tlale fashion and lifestyle range, adding another layer to his haute couture, ready-to-wear and print collections.

But bridal wear is not entirely new to the ever-evolving designer. Tlale dressed Nomachule Mngoma Gigaba for her wedding to Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba in 2014.

”As an artist and designer I am only as good as my last work, so I’m always pushing boundaries to make the brand more than just fashion. I want to make a complete lifestyle brand,” he says.
