Namibian Model Rachel Mengela Wins Five Awards At Future Fashion Faces World in Turkey
FRESH from her successful participation at the Future Fashion Faces World, 23-year-old Rachel Mengela was pleased to have won multiple awards. “I’m very happy, I even cried tears of joy when I received those titles as I didn’t expect to win anything at all,” she said.
Future Fashion Faces World (FFFW) is a fairly new international contest for male and female models and was, for the first time, held in Antalya, Turkey. The event aims to offer a platform for models from around the world to showcase their modelling talents and professional skills on the global fashion stage.
Mengela competed with models from accross the globe, coming out tops to be awarded ‘Best Catwalk’, ‘Best Model in Swimwear’, ‘Best Model Africa’ among others, as well as the opportunity to become the face of Sevil Erhan Houte Couture for a year.
An Information Technology professional, Mengela only just started participating in modelling competitions, despite being told throughout her life by her mother that she has what it takes to make it as a model. “I started modelling after my graduation last year and since then, I’ve done events in China and Italy.”
Mengela currently has her sights set on the Miss Namibia title which she plans to enter this year. Until then, she’ll be fulfilling her duties as the face of Sevil Erhan Houte Couture, travelling whenever necessary for promotions.
Mengela is currently signed to Visions Model Agency.
