Fashion Blogger Brian Muriuki Wins MIMI Fashion Blogger Award As Top Blogger

Blogger Brian Muriuki is this year’s winner of the Mimi Fashion Blogger award. The awards are the brainchild of TV personality Julie Gichuru.

“I was excited to see a guy participate. I thought ‘Wow!? there is a guy in the top ten!’. But I did not have any idea that he would win,” Julie said at the awarding ceremony. “In fact, if I’m to be honest, I was feeling sorry for him, because at the least, I expected him to get a few votes and people to be focused on the women [bloggers].”

Julie explained that the reason Brian won was because he “harnessed followers” and “built loyalty” among his followers on his social media pages.

The competition launched in September 2015 was in search of a versatile and creative fashion blogger to be the next top fashion blogger.

“We wanted to see how many people are interested in fashion and how we can support them even as they profile our products. It was very exciting for me and I was stunned by the number of people who were interested in participating. And then I was stunned by the number of people who actually voted. It gave us the message that, people are really paying attention. That for me was a phenomenal message,” Julie said.
