South African Designers Compete For Vogue Prize
The 25 finalists of the prestigious Vogue Italia Who is On Next? Dubai scouting project have been announced and three South African designers are among them. Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa by Laduma, Sindiso Khumalo and duo Adriaan Kuiters + Jody Paulsen have been selected.
The project – which aims to discover design talent from the Middle East, Asia and Africa – will see the 25 finalists present their 2016 Spring/Summer collections during the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience at The Dubai Mall on October 29 and 30.
Winning the competition will be a massive opportunity and the three designers will vie for the chance to present their collection at Pitti Uomo in Florence for the menswear category and at Altaroma in Rome for the womenswear category.
They also stand a chance to present their collection during Milan Fashion Week and to be chosen to present their creations in Palazzo Morando in September next year during this very prestigious week.
The winners will show their creations on the runway at the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience 2016. It’s a massive opportunity for any young designer, and we wish our SA designers all the best.
