We teach boys to shrink themselves; to make themselves smaller.
We say to boys: You can be fashionable but not too much.
You should aim to look good but not too good otherwise you’d threaten the woman.

Because I am male, I’m expected to aspire to monochrome.
I’m expected to make my fashion choices always keeping in mind that colors are the least important.

Now colors can be a source of joy and love and self-fulfillment,
But why do we teach girls to aspire to colors and we don’t teach boys the same?

We teach boys to see each other as stylish,
Not with colors or prints, which I think can be a good thing,
But with the adornment of ties.

We teach boys that they can not be fashion beings in the way that girls are.

Fashionist: A person who believes in the social, colorful, fashionable and seasonal equality of sexes.
