In anticipation of the Rayo’s Studio and Web launch, meet the woman behind the brand. Lamipo Somoye, first made herself known in the Nigerian fashion scene with her debut LFDW collection which showed as part of the Fashion Focus. Vogue Italia soon took notice calling the designer’s aesthetic “subtle, yet sexy and sophisticated disposition”.
The Hangaku Gozen Capsule Collection is based on a Japanese story of courage, bravery and self-sacrifice, Ráyo masterfully tailors a collection that embodies the finer points of a strong woman. Creating regal flowing deep v-necked gowns tailored from satin that lovingly drapes over body of the wearer, a fusion of white crepe with intricate detailing techniques, satin pants with trailing capes in an intimate dance of navy blue chromes, a pristine white sleeveless top with beautifully cut trousers and a cream coloured jacket all matched with a sinamay rice paddy hat that gives emphasis to the personality and theme of Hangaku Gozen.
