David Tlale Mocks Chriselda Kananda’s Wedding Dress, Says Its “UGLY”
According to the Sunday Sun, sources have blabbed about David Tlale’s harsh criticism of Chriselda’s dress, which was designed by fellow local designer Eboka
Speaking to the publication, one of David’s friends claimed that the designer, at the Moët party in Houghton one day after Chriselda’s wedding, told guests that he thinks her dress was garish and gaudy.
“David expressed his feelings. He didn’t like the dress and said it was ugly. He was asking why would the talk show host and businesswoman choose Eboka out of all the designers in South Africa,” the so-called friend reportedly snitched.
While another of the designer’s friends said of the overheard wedding dress gossip: “David said the dress was tacky and looked vintage. He was disappointed and felt he could have done something about [her ‘shape’], as he’s dressed the likes of Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba’s wife and other top Mzansi celebrities.”
When approached for comment, Positive Talk radio host Kananda said she had indeed heard of these rumours, but said she really couldn’t care less about “petty people” gossiping behind her back
“I heard that. If people want best dresses, they should get married. I’m not moved by Jozi’s gossip mongers. I don’t care and I’m not even going to dignify that with a response,” she said.
“I don’t give a hooch what others think, as long as my hubby’s happy with the way I looked. As we speak, I’m busy preparing for my traditional wedding.”
Chriselda married Siyolo Dudumashe in Hyde Park in Jo’burg on Saturday, 6 June, after a ceremony at the Rhema Bible Church
The bride’s radio colleague, Ismail “The DJ Man” Abrahams, was the MC for the day, while former Generations actress Sophie Ndaba was responsible for the decor.
The happy couple’s wedding guests are said to have enjoyed a butternut-and-biltong soup starter before tucking into a main meal of slow roast lamb and roast chicken with boulangere potatoes, while vegetarian guests enjoyed smoked mozzarella risotto and spinach, served with an arrabiata and basil sauce topped with goat’s milk feta cheese.
Entertainment was provided by a host of popular local artists, including Donald, Maleh, Brian Themba, Simphiwe Dana, Kabomo, Phinda Matlala, and Ntokozo Mbatha.
Chriselda and Siyola who works in the engineering sector, got engaged in November last year.
Tlale reportedly did not reply to questions sent to him by the publication regarding the rumours.
