Colour Fabulousness!! Athaena Bride Lagos Debuts Its First Evening Wear/Bridesmaids Collection

On a trip to one of the world’s biggest and most fashionably radiant countries, Creative Director of made-to-measure luxury bridal line, Athaena Bride Lagos, Rhoda Ejiga found inspiration in the colourful saris of Mumbai and Bengali; in the poetry and movement of their beautiful garments; in the vibrant colours one simply cannot tear their eyes away from.

Marrying an inspiration of colour with the brand’s ideals of elegance and simplicity gave life to Athaena Bride Lagos’s first evening wear / bridesmaids’ collection. The handcrafted collection which favours tulles, organzas, silk satins, is an ode to elegance that doesn’t announce itself and simplicity that remains long in memory, and the brand’s first attempt at recording beauty, that is truly effortless; one of the reasons behind its creation.

Athaena Bride Lagos was started in England by Rhoda Ejiga, a graduate of the prestigious Kings’ College London who has since enjoyed a career working in a number of Fortune 500 companies. An accomplished financial services specialist, fast on her way up the global corporate ladder, she realized her passion was not in analysing statistics or in regulatory management but in making clothes- Bridalwear, to be specific. She then returned to school, this time for fashion, to hone her craft. And the rest is history, covered in delicate fabric and painstaking beading, leading up to the brand’s debut collection.

The brand especially prides itself on the latter, a labour of love and some hundred man-hours poured into the dress, because the Athaena Bride woman, a woman clothed in romance, is a true beauty indeed. Athaena Bride Lagos will formally launch in September 2015.
